MEDICUPPING

MediCupping

VacuTherapies™ provides a wonderful bridge to the medical community, with special applications for pre- and post-surgery conditions, chiropractic and orthopedic work, conditions associated with Diabetes, Parkinson’s, Fibromyalgia, and much more. Results are fast, comfortable for the client and practitioner, and noticeably impressive to medical professionals

One of the most amazing aspects of this technique of Medicupping Therapy is the “separation” that the vacuum produces in tissue layers. This enables water absorption and renewed blood flow to undernourished and dehydrated tissue, which is invaluable in pre- and post-surgery treatments. It is becoming evident that the separation of fused, congested soft tissue and an increase in tissue function can be a catalyst for change in many current health conditions.

Along with the substantial health benefits of clearing old debris, the use of suction and negative pressure is invaluable in releasing soft tissue, scar tissue, and restricted fascia. Sports professionals are benefitting from the ease of recovery from injury or surgery.

VacuTherapies™ can comfortably:

  • Decrease or relieve pain and inflammation from injury or chronic conditions.

  • Relieve deep muscular issues and reduces muscle spasms.

  • Release and soften body tissues, scar tissue, and loosen post-surgery adhesions.

  • Lift connective tissue and stretch soft tissue to separate fascia and restrictions.

  • Increase range of movement and flexibility in joints.

  • Bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues

  • Promote healthy circulation and open the energy flow of the body.

  • Decrease or relieve pain and inflammation from injury or chronic conditions

  • Move stagnation and enable normal lymphatic pathway flow.

  • Enhance any athletic training program to improve performance.

  • Reduce “Solid Bloat”.

  • Clear and open the body systems all the way down to a cellular level

Current vacuum therapies are a modern use of an ancient tool and possess the benefits of traditional use, along with many incredible new applications. Cupping therapy utilizes glass or plastic cups and a vacuum pistol, bulb, or machine to create negative pressure using suction on the body surface. These cups are moved over the skin using gliding, shaking, popping, and rotating techniques while gently pulling up on the cup, and are parked for a short time to facilitate joint mobilization or soft tissue release. This suction can reach deep into the soft tissue or can work superficially to lift connective tissue and pull inflammation and toxins toward the surface so that the skin and lymphatic system can readily eliminate them. Scar tissues often release quickly, despite the age of the injury or keloid tendencies.

CAM Applications:

MediCupping™  therapy utilizes a machine with glass or plastic cups to create suction on the body surface. Massage Therapists who have explored the use of vacuum therapies have found the addition of suction and lifting to other massage techniques has produced radical results for clients … and getting a lot of attention from the medical field.

Having a tool that assists in the evaluation and also provides the most comfortable and effective methods for customers at such a profound level is of major benefit to today’s massage therapists. Vacuum therapies work nicely with the homeostatic mechanisms of the body, creating results often dramatic and visible. The addition of such adjunct therapies as aromatherapy, taping, and magnetic micro-cups can become a complete toolbox for a wide variety of client conditions.

MediCupping™ differentiates itself from Massage Cupping™ and other traditional methods of cupping therapy. Techniques and theory are based on Massage Therapy and stay strictly within the legal and ethical scope of practice. While every therapist has their own background and education, Traditional Chinese Medicine is kept separate from ACE Massage Cupping™ and MediCupping™ protocols.

The ability of the MediCupping™ machine to control the vacuum and the release of tissue makes it unique. The equipment performs the pumping techniques while the therapist concentrates on the movements. No more distraction of the gun or pump … a big advantage over manual vacuum equipment. Results are easy to document through regulation of equipment settings and successful results are achieved due to the consistency of application. The equipment is fun to use, versatile, and provides a valuable tool for supporting physician-referred patients through injury and surgical recovery. These techniques are used safely on children, adults and elderly persons.

Athletic Performance Enhancement:

For professional athletes and all active people…

Treatments may be done once for a current issue or can be done in a series of sessions to resolve chronic conditions. Results are achieved quickly, with comfort for the client and ease for the practitioner. Sessions can be from 1/2 hour to 1 1/2 hours, depending on whether the modality is integrated into another therapy or done independently.

Maintenance sessions are a great addition to any training program, with deep tissue and fascial release, reduction of chronic pain, and restriction from old injuries allowing the body to operate at its peak level in physical activities. Facilitation of drainage of trapped debris from past events improves tissue resilience, with beneficial effects on event performance and recovery.

Solid Bloat:

The physical formation of “Solid Bloat” is simple; heat from inflamed tissue slowly dehydrates the surrounding lymph, which inhibits normal lymphatic drainage, circulation, and hydration. Fascia fuses together from the heat and the congestion spreads through the upper tissues and skin surface. This inflammation can come from a myriad of sources such as surgeries, injuries, chronic movement patterns, and even childhood diseases and exposure to toxicities.

A shock to many people is that their chronic conditions may have been caused very early on in their life. For example, those of us who were exposed to excessive cigarette smoke as a child may still see it built up in our systems. This becomes apparent during MediCupping Therapy. As the cups move over the back, a grey color can be seen under the skin, and if a cup is parked for even a short time, the discoloration may stay visible after the treatment. The chronic heat in the lungs, from childhood, inflames and dehydrates the surrounding tissue and body fluids. With Medicupping therapy, suction reaches deep, allowing for hydration and blood flow to the body, and drains excess fluid by opening up lymphatic pathways.

It is imperative to use clear cups for treatments, as the cup can become a magnifying glass into the body. For example, large white deposits against pink skin indicate congestion and “divots” will quickly show adhesions, restrictions, and the true nature of scars. Observing the underneath the cups may give valuable insight when assessing inflammation levels.

Examining the natural body reaction to injury or illness, we find that the cycle is consistent. Injury or illness occurs and the body creates inflammation, which brings increased blood flow to the area. This also draws fluids and immune system elements into the region to deal with the condition. The PH shifts to acid and the tissues take on a positive charge polarity. Adequate recovery will allow the body to shift back to a negative charge in the tissue and an alkaline PH when healing is complete. This action is similar and linked to the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous sub-systems of the autonomic nervous system.

The problem is that very few people actually give the body recovery time. Therefore, the affected area or system never shifts back to healthy tissue. This can continue for life in the body! Inflammation continues and dehydrates the tissue and lymph. The toxins and debris from the immune system response become trapped in the congestion and the issue becomes chronic. The acid PH of the tissue blocks oxygenation and nutrients, and dehydrated tissue cannot absorb the hydration and nutrition that is available.

So how does vacuum therapy work to eliminate this Solid Bloat and open drainage in the body? The vacuum lifts and releases rigid soft tissue, as well as scars, adhesions, and restrictions. By clearing debris, opening drainage, and easing limited movement these incredibly effective techniques relieve pain and enable the body to promote healthier cells turning into healthier tissue.
